Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC),
Environmental Services (ES), has been retained by Agriculture
and Agrifood Canada (AAFC) to manage the completion of petroleum
storage tank upgrades at the Beaverlodge Research Farm in
Beaverlodge, Alberta as detailed in the attached specification.
Two new aboveground storage tank (AST) fuel systems that consist
of two 4500 L capacity double walled tanks, one for gasoline and
one for diesel, accessories, pumps, gauges and further
requirements as per the attached specification (Section 335613)
is to be supplied, approved and installed. Some electrical is
required. Impact protection required. Chain link fencing
required. Training in the system is required. AAFC will
register the new tanks with Environment Canada. Tanks must be
registered prior to commissioning. The new AST fuel systems are
to be operational before beginning the removal of the existing
underground storage tank (UST) fuel systems.
The existing two UST fuel systems (two-4500 litre tanks plus
piping and pump island and soil) are to be removed and properly
disposed of. Withdrawing the tanks from service will include
excavating the concrete pad and fill material above the UST
systems and piping, draining the fuel, removing and disposing of
the tanks and piping in accordance with applicable legislation,
and site rehabilitation (excavation area will be backfilled and
compacted, and surface material will be laid over top to match
the existing). The excavated soil surrounding the system will
be stockpiled on site until soil sample results dictating
disposal are received. Clean soil may be used as backfill.
Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1)
contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
consist of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.
NOTICE - OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a
tour of the work site.
The site visit will be held on: August 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM MST
Location: 100038 Township Road 720, Beaverlodge, Alberta
Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting
Authority before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance,
provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend and
complete a Security Clearance Request Form. Bidders that do not
complete the Security Clearance Request Form risk being denied
access to the site.
Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders
who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an
alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from
submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid
solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as
an amendment to the bid solicitation. Persons with Criminal
Records maybe denied access to the Institution.
