Marsh Boat
For the supply and delivery of (1) Marsh Boat for Parks Canada - Point Pelee National Park, Leamington, Ontario.
The Marsh Boat is required for rescuing visitors in distress within the marsh, research, monitoring, law enforcement, and accessing remote areas of the park.
The marsh is a popular canoe destination for visitors, many of which are trying canoeing for the first time. The Friends of Point Pelee operate a canoe rental shop at the Marsh Boardwalk throughout the paddling season. Canoeing in the marsh is typically from April - October. On average, staff respond to 12-15 canoe related incidents in the marsh each year. Responses generally occur when canoeists become stranded or capsize due to inexperience or sudden weather changes such as high winds; therefore, responders must be able to rely on the vessel to work in adverse weather conditions. The new vessel will be suitable for the tasks required with health and safety as the main priority.
Complete detailed specifications are identified in the Request for Proposal document.
The boat must be ready and available for use at Point Pelee National Park in Leamington Ontario as soon as possible but no later than January 31, 2017.
Please refer to the Request for Proposaldocument for the complete details regarding this requirement including the mandatory criteria, evaluation criteria and the basis of selection.
