Requirement
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is inviting
qualified Turnkey (Design-Build) Bidders to deliver two (2) new
Generic Support Buildings at Bowden Institution, Innisfail,
Alberta and two (2) new Generic Support Buildings at Drumheller
Institution, Drumheller, Alberta.
The objective of this RFP is to retain an individual Contractor
or Joint Venture to provide the complete design-build (turnkey)
work for a total of four (4) Generic Support Buildings at Bowden
and Drumheller Institutions. Utilizing a turnkeyservice delivery
methodology, a full range of professional consultant and
contractor services will be required during both the design and
construction phases of the project. The work consists of but is
not limited to the design and construction of the four
buildings, including site work and service connections. The
Project requires design and execution for multiple disciplines
carefully coordinated with on-going Institutional operations.
This is a single phase selection process.
Utilizing a design-build service delivery methodology, a full
range of professional consultant and contractor services will be
required during both the design and construction phases of the
project. The team shall have all the licensing required to
practice in Alberta.
Within the RFP Document, the Crown sets out the project
requirements, i.e., the particulars of the project itself and
the broad scope of services required from the proponent.
Delivery Date: The work must be completed 42 weeks from date of
award.
OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
It is recommended that the bidder attend the optional site
visits at the designated date and time to examine the scope of
the work required and the existing conditions.
The Bowden Optional Site Visit will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Bowden Institution. Meet at
the main Gate House. Bowden Institution is accessed from exit
365 off of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway near Innisfail,
Alberta. Search "Bowden Institution" on Google Maps for
directions.
The Drumheller Optional Site Visit will be held at 10:00 a.m. On
Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Drumheller Institution. Meet at
Administration Building (first building on left after entrance.
Drumheller Institution is accessed off of Highway 9 South of
Drumheller. Search "Drumheller Institution" on Google Maps for
directions.
Due to limited space, each design-build proponent is limited to
no more than 4 persons.
Due to security considerations, persons with criminal records
may be denied access to the Institution.
This procurement contains mandatory requirements; failure to
comply will result in rejection of the proposal.
