Nature of Requirements:
To supply one controlled temperature/humidity test chamber. Due
to many industrial needs, the NRC-Saguenay would like to acquire
a 2nd controlled temperature/humidity test chamber. The chamber
has to be coupled with the existing remote enclosures to help
NRC technical staffs to conduct research projects on durability
assessment of parts and assembly joints within the framework of
industrial projects with Canadian manufacturing industry.

Here are some of the technical specifications required (for
complete technical specifications and components required, refer
to the Request for Proposal):

  • The chamber must operate at the temperatures ranging from

-70°C to 185°C or better, while cycling relative humidity from
10% to 95% or better with a stabilized control of ±1°C or better
and ±5% relative humidity or better.

  • The chamber must feed the existing remote enclosures with low

and high air temperatures providing -65°C to 175°C or better,
and relative humidity levels from 10 % to 80 % or better.

  • The chamber must allow a temperature pull-down from 80°C to

-40°C and temperature heating up from -60°C to ambient condition
in 15 minutes or faster.

  • The chamber must have a live load capacity of minimum 3000

Watts or better at -40°C.

Bidders must propose equipment which must not be a prototype or
test unit but a standard proven equipment of the manufacturer
and contain reliable state-of-the-art technology.
In order to demonstrate that this is a standard proven equipment
of the manufacturer and contain reliable state-of-the-art
technology, bidders must provide with their bid, a list of two
(2) valid projects.

Bidders must be able to deliver the goods within a maximum
period of ten (10 weeks) after the award of Contract.

The contract includes provision of the controlled
temperature/humidity test chamber (including all components
necessary for its operation), technical documentation, delivery,
installation and training at NRC-Saguenay, Chicoutimi, Quebec,
Canada.

This Public Works and Government Services Canada office provides
procurement services to the public in both official languages.
