The procurement of Powerflushers rental is currently included in the RFSO 24-2014, which is in the evaluation stage. However, there are no sufficient units available to meet the City’s demand for a minimum of 6. Currently, only one unit is available from all the 6 vendors that bid on this RFSO schedule, which will be operating once the RFSO is awarded.
To bridge the gap in demand, an immediate rental of an additional Powerflusher is critical. This Non-Competitive contract with Superior Truck for the Powerflusher minimizes the risks associated with delays and continuity in the operations.
Specifically, the Non-Competitive will:
Ensure compliance by enabling prompt responses to emergencies involving hazardous materials and wastewater.
Minimize the risk of environmental damage and financial losses due to system failures.
Maintain operational readiness and reduce safety hazards for both City employees and the public.
Given the critical nature of this equipment and the potential consequences of failure, proceeding with sole sourcing is the most effective and responsible course of action.
