This document provides information on the Canadian Forces' need
to purchase Sandwich buns, Cereal, Oatmeal, Jams, Honey, Peanut
butter and Condiments in individual packets for the Individual
Meal Packs (IMPs)
Each year, the National Combat Ration Program produces
Individual Meal Packs (IMP) that are used for training
exercises, deployed operations or in emergency situations when
it does not permit the use of fresh rations. The IMP consists of
an average of 20 food and non-food items packaged in an overwrap
bag.
All combat ration component contracts state a specific delivery
period to ensure timely receipt and inspection of all
components. It is the component contractor's responsibility to
ensure there is sufficient product to sustain the first assembly
period and maintain the assembly line.
The work involved includes the production and packaging of the
sandwich bun, cereal, oatmeal, jams, honey, peanut butter and
condiments, shipment to the assembler, and replacement of all
defective products.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
