The Joint Personnel Support Unit (JPSU) is an organization within Military Personnel Command (MPC) that is responsible for the provision of career transition services, funeral and burial services, and services to ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members. The JPSU has its headquarters in Ottawa and is comprised of nine regional command elements, and 31 Integrated Personnel Support Centres (IPSCs) and satellites that provide service delivery across Canada. Its mission is to ensure the coordination and facilitation of standardized, high quality, consistent personal and administrative support during all phases of recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration on return to service or transition following release. This support is intended for all injured and ill CAF personnel and former personnel and their families and provided through an integrated and individual-centric service delivery model.
The intent of this requirement is to use a Human Centered Design approach to develop an innovative design of the CAF transition experience that will enable the Canadian Armed Forces Transition Group (CAF TG) to achieve its objective of providing support to all CAF members in a seamless transition to post-military life by addressing the underlying concerns regarding cumbersome processes.
The objectives of this requirement are to assist in identifying the problem(s), analyze current CAF transition processes, develop a clear approach to address this complex problem, create an implementation strategy for the approach developed, and develop and implement performance measures to monitor the success of the implemented approach.
