Title: RFI for Hardware Supplier Conference
Background
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering court-imposed sentences of two years or more for inmates, as well as supervising those under conditional release in the community. On a typical day, CSC is responsible for 22,762 inmates, of which 15,056 are in federal custody.
The CSC operational environment is unique for its diversity of locations, climate exposures and the physical restrictive construction techniques of penal institutions. Maintaining national security, the safety of staff and offenders alike is CSC's commitment to the government and public.
Objectives
CSC will be hosting an International Conference on the Use of Technology in Correctional Environments. The objective of this conference is to give vendors the opportunity to display leading edge or emerging technologies/capabilities, which are focussed on innovatively meeting emerging needs or addressing existing problems. These technologies/capabilities will be on display for Provincial, National, and International Correctional delegations.
RFI Process
3.1 Nature of the RFI
This RFI serves as an invitation for vendors that are interested in an opportunity to “showcase” their technologies, in a parallel stream at the above conference. Vendors are invited to submit a response that will allow CSC to evaluate and select the most appropriate technologies/capabilities for inclusion in the showcase to an audience drawn from Provincial, National, and International Correctional delegations.
This is not a bid solicitation. This RFI will not result in the award of any contract. As a result, potential suppliers of any goods or services described in this RFI should not reserve stock or facilities, nor allocate resources, as a result of any information contained in this RFI. Nor will this RFI result in the creation of any source list. Therefore, whether or not any potential supplier responds to this RFI will not preclude that supplier from participating in any future procurement.
3.2 Nature and Format of Responses Requested
The response to the RFI must include:
A 3 page (max) description of the technology/capability that the vendor will be showcasing;
Features and benefits that the vendor’s technology brings to the Correctional environment;
High level details of any operating deployments of these technologies/capabilities, including the style, type and location, (unless sensitive) of any deployed solutions or solutions that are being trialled; and
A brief description of the vendor’s booth / display (video, brochures, hardware, banners, etc.).
The response to the RFI may include:
Customer testimonials (if any exist).
Requirements
The technologies/capabilities that the vendors display must be applicable in Institutional environments in the following areas:
Health Care Service Delivery and Management;

Evaluation
Vendor submissions will be evaluated by a CSC evaluation committee on their ability to address the criteria below in their submitted response.
The technology/capability conforms to the five main conference themes identified above;
The technology/capability addresses existing, new, or evolving operational needs found in a typical institutional environment;
The technology/capability demonstrates identifiable cost savings or operational efficiencies with respect to current modes of operation; and
