Nature of Requirements:
The intent of this notice is to publish a document that provides a summary of feedback received from the Industry.
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), released a Request for Information (RFI) # U8300-209753/A on October 28, 2020 on BuyandSell.gc.ca to engage with, and elicit feedback from the Trademarks Classification industry representatives leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and others interested in providing feedback in regards to the immediate needs of CIPO’s Trademarks Nice Classification Solution.
The objectives of the RFI were to:
a) Collect information regarding current market capabilities that meet the requirements as published in the RFI;
b) Seek industry feedback to solidify requirements; and
c) Engage potential respondents.
The information and feedback obtained throughout this RFI process has given some insight into industry’s current capabilities. The feedback collected from this RFI process will be taken into consideration when finalizing the project’s requirements.
