Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for the purchase and delivery of a Multi-wheel Size Aviation Tire Beadbreaker for routine operations.
The age of the current bead breaker utilized by the shop is over 30 years old. The machine is obsolete and has been discontinued with no supply chain to repair the equipment if necessary.
The main purpose of the machine is to unseat the tire bead of Aviation Wheels, allowing the dismantling of the wheel halves, facilitating the removal of the rubber for replacement.
The current machine is only able to facilitate Main Landing Gear Wheel Assemblies as the hydraulic piston does not have sufficient travel to break the beads of the Nose Wheel Assemblies. We currently use an alternate method to unseat the beads of the Nose Wheel Assembly from the rim.
The procurement of a new multi-wheel size Tire Beadbreaker will ensure the tire beads are broken down in a safe and efficient manner.
Delivery Date: Above-mentioned
