The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to solicit comments from potential service providers with regard to the required services of catastrophic risk modelling, and data analysis and actuarial support in the context of the Department’s work on earthquake insurance and natural disaster protection gaps. Specifically, Canada is interested in advisory services that can develop a profile of earthquake risk in Canada, and provide data and actuarial support for the evaluation of policy options for earthquake risk financing and insurance in Canada. For the purpose of the RFI, Canada is seeking market input to assess the feasibility of the proposed contract, and to ensure that the services requested align with standard industry approaches.
This RFI is intended to enable Canada to understand standard approaches and to permit dialogue between Canada and potential service providers with the view of determining their ability to address Canada's requirements.
