Nature of Requirements:
Background:

The currently deployed eSafe product provides content filtering,
data control and data leak prevention (DLP) for traffic through
a network boundary. This includes web (web security gateway) and
email (mail security gateway) traffic. Since the product is
end-of-life and will not be supported past December 2013, a
replacement product must be found to provide content inspection
for both web and email traffic.

The goal of the RFI is to determine what is available in the
field of content inspection for web and mail security gateways.
The goal is to find a product that can perform both web and mail
filtering (like the eSafe product). However a solution whereby
different products are chosen for the web security gateway and
mail security gateway, may also be acceptable.

Expected Procurements:

The procurements expected to follow from the Content Validation
RFI are:

Once the client has established whether such technology exists
or not, and it satisfies their requirements/needs, the client
would like to proceed with a procurement strategy to acquire
software for the purpose stated above. If the client cannot find
a solution that can deliver on both requirements they are open
to the idea of procuring two separate solutions: 1) Content
Validation for Email and 2) Content Validation for Web.

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
