The Departmental of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) has a requirement to procure Print Management Software (PMSW) in order to gain visibility of their existing printing fleet and to implement “Pull Printing” as security measure to protect the confidentiality of their printing. The Managed Print Service (MPS) is a collection of technologies, systems and procedures that enable improved visibility and control of the office printing environment resulting in end-user productivity and cost savings.
The PMSW that will be supplied by the contractor may be declared the enterprise print management software for the DND/CAF. The DND/CAF has a potential requirement for the PMSW requirement to scale up to the following:
35 separate print management hierarchies/application with same or different security caveats
400 redundant print servers across all networks
110,000 users that will have one or more user accounts on different networks
6000 Multi-Function Devices (MFD) and printers requiring embedded application
9000 Printers with no embedded component
The Request for Standing Offers (RFSO) is to establish National Master Standing Offers for the delivery of the requirement detailed in the RFSO, to the Identified Users across Canada, including areas subject to Comprehensive Land Claims Agreements (CLCAs).
The national security exceptions provided for in the trade agreements have been invoked; therefore, this procurement is excluded from all of the obligations of all the trade agreements.
