PURPOSE AND NATURE OF THE RFI
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) is requesting Industry feedback regarding Flags and Pennants for the Department of National Defence (DND).
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Department of National Defence (DND) would like to identify the current capabilities and offerings available from the Canadian flag industry. Respondents should note that Canada is exploring the marketplace to seek advice on commercially available products associated with this requirement.
This Request for Information (RFI) solicits feedback on the following:
1. Industry’s current capability in manufacturing flag products.
2. Current industry standards and typical supply for flag development and production in comparison to DNDs requirements.
3. New industry developments and technologies that may be beneficial forDNDsrequirements.
4. Comments and concernswith the current requirements and specifications, and information on related alternatives.
The results of this RFI may be considered in the development of new procurement strategies and updating specifications.
NATURE OF THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
This RFI is not a bid solicitation. This RFI will not result in the award of any contract; therefore, potential suppliers of any goods or services described in the RFI should not earmark stock or facilities,nor allocate resources as a result of any information contained in this RFI. Nor will this RFI result in the creation of any source list; therefore, whether or not any potential supplier responds to this RFI will not preclude that supplier from participating in any future procurement. Also, the procurement of any of the goods and services described in this RFI will not necessarily follow this RFI. This RFI is simply intended to solicit information from industry with respect to the contents of this RFI.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Industry is invited to provide information on products or technologies and provide comments or information that address the technical requirements stated herein. Each responsemust be submitted in accordance with the Submissionof Responses.
Data or samples may be submitted in response to this RFI, though they may be evaluated, tested and trialed to further compare to Canada’s requirements. Canada may use this information to develop a purchase description, performance and/or technical specification that may be used to acquire goods in a competitive environment. Any restrictions or conditions on the use of a company’s products or product features that may impede a competitive process must be clearly identified in the response. Any such restrictions or conditions will be considered.
Canada is not bound by anything stated in the RFI. Canada reserves the right to change any or all parts of its requirements. Responding to this RFI is not, in any way, a prerequisite toresponding to a future Request for Proposal(RFP) for the item. This request for information and comments are intended only to enable Canada to consider industry capabilities and concerns, prior to finalizing a procurement approach and releasing future RFP’s.
