Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) on behalf of
the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has a requirement that
involves work which includes but is not limited to:
1. Re-dredging areas of the harbour entrance channel at the
DFO-SCH facility located in Mabou, Inverness County, NS.
2. The work includes but is not limited to:
.1 Dredging of class B material from areas A, B and C of the
harbour entrance channel as shown, to an elevation of -2.0
meters in area B and C, and to -2.3 in area A; and
.2 Transportation and disposal of the entrance channel dredge
material at an off-site disposal location.
.3 Wharf 403 ( shown on the plans) may be used by the
contractor for offloading dredged material with the exception of
the area shown on the sketch in Appendix B of the specification.
Contractor to cooperate with users of existing wharf when
scheduling offloading.
.4 Contractor to protect the wharf (including but not limited
to deck, fendering, sheathing, guard) from any damage. This
will include (but not necessarily be limited to) the provision
of steel plates or timber mats on the deck and temporary
fendering as required. All damage resulting from the
contractors operations to be repaired to the satisfaction of the
departmental representative at no additional cost.
.3 All elements of the work must be completed by September 14,
2012.
