DFATD has identified a requirement for a legal firm to coordinate and oversee services provided by foreign legal firms representing the Government of Canada in legal actions that may be required to protect its intellectual property and trademark rights.
The purpose of this requirement is to acquire legal services including but not limited to the provision of legal advice, preparation of legal documents and legal representation of the Government of Canada. These services are in association with the registration process of the EduCanada trademark in Canada and in foreign jurisdictions and may be required during and after the registration of the trademark.
In addition, these services may be required to protect the Government of Canada’s intellectual property and trademark rights in the event of potential unauthorized use of the EduCanada trademark by third parties in foreign jurisdictions. This may include the purchase of web domain names in foreign countries.
Moreover, DFATD may be required to file trademark applications of the mark (the word only) EduCanada in 25 new jurisdictions which are listed below in the Statement of work.
There is no security requirement associated with this bid solicitation.
