Purpose of the Request for Information (RFI) and Summary of Requirements
Purpose of this RFI. The purposes of this RFI is to obtain industry feedback regarding the availability of commercial-off-the-shelf metallic leg irons type 3 (connecting chains) and/or metallic wrist restraints that have either been tested to or are certified to NIJ 1001.00 or are in the process of being tested to or certified to NIJ 1001.00 and to see if there are any future innovations being planned or developed.
Summary of Requirements: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has a requirement to assess potential alternate solution concepts that would meet our requirements and inquire as to whether or not there are any innovations being planned or developed.
Nature of the Request for Information
This is not a bid solicitation. This RFI will not result in the award of any contract; therefore, potential suppliers of goods described in this RFI should not earmark stock or facilities, nor allocate resources, as a result of any information contained in this RFI. Nor will this RFI result in the creation of any source list; therefore, whether or not any potential supplier responds to this RFI will not preclude that supplier from participating in any future procurement. Also, the procurement of any of the goods described in this RFI will not necessarily follow this RFI. The nature of this RFI is to solicit feedback from industry with respect to the matters described in this RFI.
Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
RCMP has adopted the Integrity Regime administered by PWGSC. As a result, the integrity provisions are being applied in RCMP contracting activities as outlined in this solicitation.
