If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting authority may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier.

Background:

Public Works and Government Services Canada on behalf of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Water Survey Branch in the Newfoundland-Labrador Region has a requirement for the supply and delivery of one (1) remote radio controlled boat and accompanying accessories for use with remote controlled boat for obtaining hydrological measurements with acoustic Doppler current profilers.
As part of their mandate to provide hydrometric data to Canadians, the Water Survey of Canada branch of Environment and Climate Change Canada, regularly obtains discharge measurements on Canadian watercourses included in their hydrometric network of stations. The use of remote controlled boats in obtaining these measurements has increased across the national program in an effort to mitigate OSH hazards normally associated with obtaining measurements when working with high flows and on larger rivers. Previously these measurements where obtained by employing manned boats and cableways at greater OHS risk to personnel.
