Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbors (SCH) is
constructing a small craft harbor at Pangnirtung, Nunavut. The
small craft harbor at Pangnirtung will primarily support the
local commercial fishery and protect lives of mariners, provide
an improved facility to support annual community re-supply and
local general transportation, and serve as a possible operating
base for other federal marine based activities in the North.
Once constructed, Pangnirtung harbor will be the first SCH
harbor in Nunavut.
SCH requires Contractor to provide fabricated float wharves,
fully assembled for inspection in Winnipeg Manitoba, then
partially disassembled and packaged to prevent damage to the
material during shipping. SCH will ship the disassembled
wharves in standard cargo containers to Pangnirtung, Nunavut on
the annual sea-lift in early June. SCH will be responsible for
the reassembly of the float wharves on site with the hiring
local contractors.
There is no security requirement associated with this
requirement.
The requirement is subject to the provisions of the North
American Free Trade Agreement and the
Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT)
INUIT OF NUNAVUT COMPREHENSIVE LAND CLAIM AGREEMENT: The
