Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN)
An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier.
Definition of the requirement
Environment and Climate Change Canada has a requirement for the supply of 120 Geo Mini GPS Tracking Devices for delivery by May 15, 2022. The nanoFix-GEO-mini GPS tag is the world’s smallest and lightest weight GPS tag and has been used to successfully track many hundreds of storm petrels around the world since 2016. This highly innovative tag provides the optimal design of the minimum possible weight in a packaging that is sufficiently robust to withstand the environmental and behavioural characteristics of this species. The key tag specifications are as follows.
· Tag weight =0.95g without front attachment tube, 120 location attempts, battery-only GPS tags have been previously successfully deployed on Leach’s Storm-Petrels
