The Department of National Defence (DND) requires a laser
embossing machine for the National Defence Identification
Section (NDIS) to enable the creation of identification discs
for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members.
The CAF issues identification (ID) discs to all of its military
members through the (NDIS). These discs are made of stainless
steel and contain vital information of the member. NDIS
produces approximately 30,000 discs per year.
The objective of this requirement is to procure a laser
embossing machine capable of embossing metal ID discs legibly,
with the option to procure one additional machine within 12
months of contract award.
The requested delivery date is April 30th 2014.
