.1 Work is to be executed within an active Powerhouse facility that will remain operational throughout the construction period. The Contractor shall plan and coordinate the Work in a manner that accommodates ongoing facility operations and continued occupancy by Government of Alberta personnel.
.2 Existing facility operations are critical to building functionality. Construction activities shall be planned and coordinated to maintain required system operation throughout the project, except where approved outages have been authorized by the Province.
.3 Replacement equipment and associated controls shall, at a minimum, maintain operational functionality consistent with the systems being replaced, including integration with existing facility operational practices and remote operating capabilities. Any identified discrepancy between the Contract Documents and these requirements shall be brought to the attention of the Consultant.

.5 The Contractor is advised that project sequencing may require portions of the existing cooling system to remain operational or alternatively require portions of the new cooling system to be commissioned and operational by Fall 2027, while construction activities remain ongoing. Proponents shall account for this requirement when developing their construction approach, schedule, outage planning, and temporary operating strategies.
.6 The Contractor is advised the controls design approach is intended to maintain compatibility and integration with the existing Delta EMCS platform used throughout the Powerhouse, including the Cooling Tower system, and to support continuity of facility operations during and after implementation.
.7 The removal of two existing chillers, associated condenser water pumps and chilled water pumps. Replacement of the equipment with new chillers and pumps.
