The cannabis laboratory has a requirement for the supply and delivery of two (2) VBSEs. These two systems will be used by the laboratory to perform weighing of reference materials, reagents and samples in a health-safety manner to support Health Canada's compliance and enforcement activities for cannabis samples in the legal market (for ROEB cannabis inspectors) and in the illicit market (for law enforcement officers across Canada). The laboratory routinely analyzes many components including cannabinoids, vitamin E acetate, pesticides, mycotoxins, residual solvents, nicotine, ethanol etc. These analyses require the weighing of reference materials for example which are in powder form and it is known that weighing powder can irritate the respiratory tract. Health and Safety being our top priority, the cannabis lab must acquire two VBSE's to protect its employees from this risk present in the responsibilities of these analysts.
