Letter of Interest (LOI) for the replacement of the Diesel
Generator Controller (DGC) Onboard the Victoria Class submarines
For Department of National Defence (DND).
The purpose of this Letter of Interest (LOI) is to determine
Canadian Industry's interest in bidding for the replacement of
the Diesel Generator Controller (DGC).
This Letter Of Intent (LOI) Statement of Work (SOW) defines the
work and the technical performance requirements for the
replacement of the Diesel Generator Controller (DGC), one per
submarine on the Victoria Class Submarines (VCS), four (4) in
total; SSK 876 VICTORIA, SSK 877 WINDSOR, SSK 878 CORNER BROOK
and SSK 879 CHICOUTIMI. The existing DGC consists of an
Electronic Enclosure (EE) fitted on each of the submarines. The
replacement DGC shall be accomplished by customization of
Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) components and/or by design,
integration, design qualification tests, installation, set to
work, training, integrated logistics support, and documentation.
This LOI SOW also details the upgrade/enhancement work and the
technical performance requirements for the two (2) associated
Shore-Based Trainers (SBTs), the Machinery Control Trainer (MCT)
and the Maintenance Trainer (MT) that are located at the
Canadian Forces Naval Operations School (CFNOS) - Submarine
Training Division, Canadian Forces Base (CFB), Halifax.
