The Science and Engineering Directorate (SED) of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) requires a SEM-EDS Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with a fully integrated Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) for sample analysis and obtaining detailed information about the sample’s surface topography, morphology, phase and elemental compositions and distributions. Samples may include but not limited to unknown powders, ashes, metals, textiles, tobacco and polymers.
