Health Protection Building, 200 Tunney's Pasture Drive, Ottawa,
ON

The primary goal for the Heath Protection Branch Elevator
Modernization Project is to update the existing vertical
transportation system to provide reliable service. The Project
involves the modernization of one (1) electric Freight Elevator
and one (1) electric Passenger Elevator. The upgraded elevator
system will have enhanced safety features and will meet aspects
of the current elevator safety code.

Construction work (modernization of elevators) to be completed
within Thirty-eight (38) weeks after contract award. Subsequent
long-term maintenance of ten (10) years shall commence on the
date of issuance of the final Certificate of Completion of the
construction work. The maintenance contract will contain
options to extend the term of the contract by up to three (3)
additional five (5) years periods under the same conditions.

The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following
category: $500,001.00 - $1,000,000.00

Pre-Qualification List(s)
In order to have their bids considered, bidders must be
registered on all applicable 'Lists of Prequalified Elevator
Maintenance Contractors for the province of Ontario and for all
the following type(s) of equipment: Electrical.

MANDATORY SECURITY REQUIREMENT: This procurement contains a
mandatory security requirement as follows:

SECURITY REQUIREMENT FOR CANADIAN CONTRACTORS

1. The Contractor must, at all times during the performance
of the Contract, hold a valid Designated Organization
Screening (DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security
Directorate (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada
(PWGSC).

2. The Contractor personnel requiring access to sensitive work
site(s) must EACH hold a valid RELIABILITY STATUS, granted or
approved by CISD/PWGSC.

3. Subcontracts which contain security requirements are NOT to
be awarded without the prior written permission of CISD/PWGSC.

4. The Contractor must comply with the provisions of the:

(a) Security Requirements Check List and security guide (if
applicable), attached at Annex 'B';
(b) Industrial Security Manual (Latest Edition).

SECURITY CLEARANCE

1) At bid closing, the Bidder must hold a valid Designated
Organization Screening (DOS) as indicated in section SC01 of
the Supplementary Conditions of the Invitation to Tender
document. Failure to comply with this requirement will render
the Bid non-compliant and no further consideration will be given
to the Bid.

2) The Successful Bidder's personnel, as well as any
subcontractor and its personnel, who are required to perform any
part of the work pursuant to the subsequent contract must meet
the mandatory security requirement as indicated in section SC01
of the Supplementary Conditions of the Invitation to Tender
document. Individuals who do not have the required level of
security will not be allowed on site. It is the responsibility
of the successful bidder to ensure that the security
requirements are met throughout the performance of the contract.
Canada will not be held liable or accountable for any delays or
additional costs associated with the successful bidder's
non-compliance with the mandatory security requirement.

3) For any enquiries concerning the project security
requirement, during the bidding period, the Bidder must follow
the instructions as detailed below in "Enquiries". Additional

OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
There will be a site visit on March 8, 2012 at 10:30 am.
