The purpose of this project is to upgrade the mechanical, electrical and control systems of all five elevators to provide optimal functionality for occupants, as the elevators in the building have surpassed their engineered life span. Furthermore, the modernization will include cab upgrades limited to the interior finishes for refurbishment, excluding the interior refurbishment of elevator 4, where all heritage elements will be protected. The modernization will include the implementation of voice, video, and text communication requirements in all elevators.
