Project Title: Chemical Room Acid Storage Retrofit at Environement Canada's National Hydrology Research Centre in Saskatoon, SK.
SCOPE OF WORK
1.ARCHITECTURAL - The work includes, but is not limited to, the following :
a) Remove, repaint and reinstall existing blowout panels and steel mesh guards in storage rooms.
b) Replace corroded door and door hardware in Acid Storage Room. Replace door locksets in remainder of storage rooms.
c) Supply and install new HDPE shelving units in Acid Storage Room.
d) Roof curbs and penetrations for associated mechanical and structural work.
2.STRUCTURAL - The work includes, but is not limited to, the following :
a) Installation of 2 No. W310 beams under the existing roof and connecting to existing W360 beams.
b) Installation of 6 no. HSS 102x4.8 stubs off the top flange of the new W310 beams and through the roof, prepared by others.
c) Construction of Channel and angle platform off the top of the HSS 102x4.8 stubs including 6 mm plate support for fan exhaust stacks.
3. MECHANICAL - The work includes, but is not limited to, the following :
a) Add new room ventilation, ductwork, roof exhaust fans
b) Add glycol heating system for makeup air for room ventilation.
c) Modifications to fire protection
d) Add controls
4. ELECTRICAL - The work includes, but is not limited to, the following :
a) Demolition of existing electric heating systems
b) New 120V electrical service to five (5) exhaust fans
c) New 120V electrical services to miscellaneous mechanical equipment (pumps and gas detection system)
d) Replacement of corroded housings, fittings, gaskets, and/or screws
e) Bonding exhaust fans to lightning protection system.
Work must be completed before March31, 2014. Hours of operation to complete this project is Monday-Friday between 06:00?18:00.
This project shall be completed in an environmentally approved manner following all applicable codes and practices. The work shall be done following the specifications contained in the drawings and specifications for this project.
Interested bidders must attend a mandatory site visite at the National Hydrology Research Centre, #11 Innovation Boulevard, Saskatoon, SK.

Failure to attend the “Site Visit” will result in bidder’s disqualification.
