Full description

The MVRWSC Raw Water Storage Pond and Lift Station Project will implement a phased off stream raw water storage pond on Commission-owned lands east of the WTP. The existing
intake and low-lift pump station will remain in service and will deliver raw water to the new pond system, maintaining established conveyance routes and minimizing disruption. A new raw water lift station and flow-control chamber will return stored water from the pond to the WTP. At full build-out the pond will comprise three storage cells and a dedicated forebay, constructed in phases from west to east, providing a total storage volume of approximately 360,000 m³, equivalent to approximately 24 to 47 days of supply depending on plant demand. The Anthony Henday WTP has an average day demand of approximately 10,000 m³/d, a maximum day demand of approximately 15,000 m³/d and a total plant capacity of 27,000 m³/d. Initial phases of the work have been intentionally planned to avoid in-river construction, streamlining regulatory approvals and reducing environmental risk. The Commission plans to tender the Phase 1 civil contract work following completion of this pre-qualification process, once draft design drawings are available. The intent of this pre-qualification process is to allow the Commission to rate, rank and select up to five (+/-) eligible General Contractors that will be invited to bid the necessary services to
construct Phase 1 of the Project. A separate pre-qualification package is anticipated for future phases of the work. Through this request for pre-qualification application, the Commission seeks to ensure that companies that bid on the above contract have the experience, skill, ability, resources, bonding, integrity and safety record needed to perform the above work as described in this package and to specify the requirements that would govern any resulting contractual agreement(s).
