Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement
for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) for Service
Area Improvements at Foxtrap, NL. The scope of work consists of,
but is not necessarily limited to, the furnishing of all plant,
labour, equipment, and material for service area improvements at
Foxtrap, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance
with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to
all terms and conditions of the Contract.
The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be
limited to, the following:
· Excavation of existing rock and gravel fill (varying sizes) to
expose the back of the existing round untreated timber cribwork.
Note the excavation pay limits shown on the drawings. Take
precautions to locate and protect existing electrical lines
traversing the area of work.
· Supply and installation of geotextile and treated plywood on
the back of the existing cribwork
· Supply and installation of treated timber blocking timbers, as
noted on the drawings.
· Supply and installation of new rock/gravel fill, Class "B" and
Class "A" granulars. Consider the extents shown on the drawings
to be the pay limits.
FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit
the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form,
nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the
completion of the work, the means of access to the site,
severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions,
any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain
all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other
circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No
allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on
account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine
the conditions that will apply.
Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review
specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety before
visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any
visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. Obtain
prior permission from the Departmental Representative before
carrying out such site inspection.
Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION
SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2014-06-26) for the
Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
