Further Details: The object of the contract is the rehabilitation of the HERAT runway to ensure present & future execution of assigned theatre-level critical capabilities and allow smooth redeployment of troops and equipment from the ISAF western region through the Foreign Support Base (FSB).
The pavement rehabilitation/enhancement concerns Runway 18/36. The pavement will be strengthened by means of demolition of the existing surface asphalt concrete pavement and its replacement/reconstruction with a newly defined asphalt concrete pavement mix supported by geo-Fiber grid in order to increase and ensure the appropriate Pavement Classification Number (PCN) value.

Potential Bidders: Must be from a participating NATO country. It is anticipated that this project will be incorporated into one contract. It is envisioned that the use of local sub-contractors and the purchase of local materials (such as gravel and bitumen)will be permitted for this project.
Delivery Date: The planned tender release date is 27 August 2013 with a scheduled Bid Closing date scheduled for 17 September 2013. The Validity period of Bids should be 180 days from Bid Closing Date. The anticipated contract award date is 30 September 2013.
