Project concerns the rehabilitation of an existing covered bridge with a 18.3 metres long span. Construction works include the mobilisation/demobilisation, including site clean-up and re- instatement, environmental protection measures and other works. Work on structure includes dewatering, asphalt and waterproofing removal, concrete repairs and deck overlay, waterproofing membrane, paving, pavement markings, structural steel repairs, coating structural steel, remove and replace deck drains, removal and reconstruction of the ballast walls, replacement of bearing on north abutment, substructure concrete repairs, repair timber elements on cover structure, install gabion retaining walls, excavate and backfill, modify bridge guardrail, site re-instatement and other related work. Work at approaches consists of the rehabilitation of the approaches including asphalt removal, excavation and backfill, paving, pavement markings, new guard rails, top soil and sod and other related work.
A NON MANDATORY site visit will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10am Ottawa time. The exact meeting place is the main Gatineau Park entrance to Lac Philippe off of hwy 366, Gatineau Park, Chelsea, Qc. All costs incurred by the Bidder to attend the site visit will be at their expense. The NCC will not reimburse any Bidder for expenses related to the site visit.
