Work of this Contract will include the fabrication, commissioning, transport, installation and site commissioning of two building prototype modules for Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The prototypes will utilize modified high cube shipping containers as a base to fabricate a hydrogen generation and storage module and a controls module that will be used to generate hydrogen and monitor the weather balloon inflation processes. The prototype modules are to be fabricated, commissioned, transported to the test site, and commissioned in place.
Once the prototype construction, installation and commissioning is accepted and minor modifications identified and documented, five additional sets of modules are to be fabricated, commissioned, prepared for transportation, and then stored at the contractor’s secure yard until they are designated for use by ECCC, as more fully described in the plans and specifications.
The contractor is to transport, install and commission the modules at five individual sites. The scope of work will include the installation of foundations, installation of the modules and renovations to the existing inflation buildings.
Work is estimated to be completed within 36 months after contract award. To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, the estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following category: over and above $5,000,001.
