The NLHRS (National Laboratory for HIV Reference Services)
provides specialized testing to Canadian Public Health, hospital
and other laboratories who are charged with the task of
diagnosing and the clinical monitoring of those infected with
HIV. The NLHRS has several studies requiring the detection and
quantification of extremely small quantities of virus including
paediatric and adult patients undergoing treatment.
The NLHRS has a requirement for a Digital Droplet Polymerase
Chain Reaction (ddPCR or dPCR) system to detect and quantitate
HIV below the limit of detection currently available.
This research requires the detection of low levels of HIV, the
most sensitive commercially available assays in our lab have
lower limits of 20 copies/mL but this is not sensitive enough.
Complete specifications and details are included in attached
solicitation document.
