Location:

Work Description:
Work under this contract covers limited demolition and
modifications to the existing X-ray Room and remedial work to
accommodate new x-ray equipment to be supplied and installed by
others, for the health care building at Kent Institution,
located in Agassiz, B.C.
Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not
limited to, the following:
1. Removal of decommissioned existing x-ray equipment,
dismantled by others, to another location on site as directed by
Departmental Representative for storage.
2. Refer to Appendix "A", Hazardous Building Materials
Assessment before commencing demolition.
3. Demolition and removal and suspended gypsum board ceiling
as indicated on drawings.
4. Design, fabrication and installation of steel support
framing.
5. Removal of vinyl asbestos floor tile and replacement with
new resilient flooring.
6. Making good to walls, doors, door frames, remaining
flooring and ceiling.
7. Supply and installation of suspended gypsum board ceiling.
8. Installation of lead laminated gypsum board to one wall of
the x-ray room as indicated in the drawings.
9. Demolition of existing cabinetry and fabrication and
installation of new millwork.
10. Painting of all new and existing surfaces.
11. Electrical modifications including lighting as indicated on
drawings.
12. Mechanical modifications as indicate on drawings.
13. All other work specified herein or noted on drawings.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed within eleven (11) weeks of contract award.

Site Visit
Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or
investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.

There will be a site visit on March 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m local
time. Interested bidders are to meet at Kent PWGSC Site.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
is estimated to cost between
$150,000.00 - $200,000.00.

Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain

provider. Addenda, when issued will be available from the MERX
service provider. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender
(solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at
their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the
tender calling authority of their intention to bid. In all
cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space
provided on the tender form the identification number(s) of the
addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for
their bid.
