PWGSC has partnered with Parks Canada Agency (PCA) to deliver an infrastructure project on the Trent-Severn Waterway (TSW) over the next 4 years. The objective of the project is to improve the structural integrity and public safety on the waterway while promoting visitor experience. The duration of the construction activities is anticipated to take three non-navigation seasons while most fabrication will be undertaken off site. This project is a comprehensive rehabilitation of the Big Chute Marine Railway, while protecting the heritage value and character-defining elements to the extent possible. The principal objective of this project is to design and implement the replacement of the Big Chute Marine Railway carriage including the structural, hydraulic, and electrical control system. There will be an optional site visit on June 4, 2025 at 12:00 EDT.
