Full description

The project will replace the current VTMIS with a modernized system. The new VTMIS will address these identified gaps or issues and improve CCG services in the following ways:1) Improve maritime traffic monitoring by leveraging rule-based automatic alerts and risk analysis tools to assist the MCTS officers in anticipating and mitigating risks;2) Enable an integrated image, showing both vessel traffic and waterways conditions, such as geographical features, ice conditions, meteorological information and data from other sources, if relevant; and,3) Harmonize vessel traffic services delivery with e-Navigation and the adoption of international standards from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
