IMPORTANT CHANGES TO GI01 "CODE OF CONDUCT AND CERTIFICATION -
BID" OF R2710T, GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS (REFER TO
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS SI01 3)

Work Description:
Work to be done under this contract consists of:
1) Installing slope mesh on rock cuts, and rock disposal from
adjacent rock slopes and ditches to eliminate hazard of sudden
rock falls onto the Alaska Highway.
2) Other miscellaneous related work decribed in this
specification.

Important General Notes to Bidders:
1) Prior to start of the contract, the brush clearing at the top
of the cliff and the crest of the rock will by performed by
other contractors.
2) After the completion of the contract, the cleaning of ditch
debris as a consequence of scaling operations will be performed
by other contractors.
3) Limits of mesh installation: STA 0+330 to STA0+597 as
referenced in drawing SK#5306.00.
4) If required, trim blasting must be overseen by a Professional
Geotechnical Engineer (BC) approve by Departmental
Representative. The Contractor is reponsible for acquiring and
paying for services of the Professional Engineer.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
be completed by October 15, 2012.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
is estimated to cost around
$800,000 to $900,000.

Firms intending to submit tenders for this project should obtain
tender (solicitation) documents through the MERX services
provider. Addenda when issued will be available from the MERX
services provider. Firms that elect to base their bid on tender
(solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at
their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the bid
calling authority on their intention to bid. In all cases,
bidders must indicate (when requested) on the tender form the
identification number(s) of the addenda, if any, that they have
taken into consideration for their bid submission.
