Requirement:
The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has a
requirement for the supply and delivery of one (1) agricultural
6-row precision seed drill, in accordance with Annex A. To be
delivered to: Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Research Centre,
6947 #7 Highway, Agassiz, BC.
The seed drill will be used to establish medium-scale field
experiments in crop protection, using both untreated and
pesticide-treated seeds (depending on the specific trial).
Planned examples include residue assessments of a foliar
fungicide spray on field basil, and efficacy studies of treated
wheat seed against wireworms (Agriotes spp.) and similar
soil-dwelling insect pests.
Due to the nature of this research AAFC requires a smaller cone
seed drill that will still deliver a high level of precision in
seed spacing. The necessity of greater precision in seed spacing
requires that the seed drill be manufactured specifically for
research trials.
