The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) is Canada’s national tourism marketing organization. A federal Crown corporation, CTC leads the Canadian tourism industry in marketing Canada as a premier four-season tourism destination, and supports the Canadian economy by generating tourism export revenues. CTC’s approach focuses on those global markets where Canada’s tourism brand leads and yields the highest return on investment. CTC is active in 11 key geographic markets: the new and emerging markets of Brazil, China, India, Japan, Mexico and South Korea, as well as the core markets of Australia, France, Germany, United Kingdom and United States.
This notice serves to advise that the CTC is soliciting proposals through a Negotiated Request for Proposal (the “NRFP”) from proponents able to provide Event Planning and Management services for CTC’s Japan office located in Tokyo.
The CTC requires a proponent that is able to provide event management and planning services for consumer trade shows and CTC led events (“Events”) throughout the year in various locations in Japan. The contractor should be:
- experienced in planning and managing consumer tradeshows and tourism industry events in Japan;
- excellent at activating and championing client brands;
- knowledgeable in the tourism industry;
- skilled communicators in both Japanese and English; and
- leaders in the field of event planning management, including the latest trends and best practices in their business practices.
The CTC requires the proponent to provide a key contact (“Account Manager”) capable of managing CTC Japan’s account, and be responsible to co-ordinate all activities related to the management and planning of events. The Account Manager must be able to attend meetings at the CTC’s Japan office in Tokyo in person. The account team must be fluent in Japanese.
The CTC anticipates entering into negotiations with the selected proponent for a three (3) year period, with an option to extend on an annual basis by CTC for a total period not to exceed another two (2) years, at CTC’s sole discretion.
