Description of Work:
The Contractor shall, on an as-and-when-required basis:
- Act as an interface between CAS and their existing third party solutions providers of network products and services
- Conduct technical presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, processes and procedures using the agreed-to CAS documentation formats
- Instruct and train junior technical resources
- Produce Cisco, Brocade and Juniper Internetworking device configuration documentation
- Produce network architecture diagrams and documentation
- Produce procedural and operational documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Produce technical briefs, reports and other communication tools for both technical and non- technical audiences
- Produce telecom room diagrams and documentation
- Produce telecommunications cable plant diagrams and documentation
- Propose application and program designs or technical infrastructure designs in order to ensure adherence to industry and government standards and best practices
- Provide advanced troubleshooting on different hardware models of Cisco, Brocade and Juniper LAN and WAN infrastructure switches and routers
- Provide emergency troubleshooting and repair services for the computing environment, often with little advance notice
- Provide guidance to INS on how to establish and maintain a properly zoned network environment according to government standards
- Provide solutions to enhance current operations with a focus on the future CAS computing environment
- Support, manage and optimize the CAS computing environment
- Work with CAS business units to develop new IT solutions based on organizational business needs and priorities
