The intent of this notice is to publish a document that provides a summary of feedback received from the Industry Engagement Phase 1 of Request for Information #1b for the Medical Transportation System Solution (MTSS) Project, # HT426-184464/A.
Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), released a Request for Information (RFI) on April 30, 2019 on BuyandSell.gc.ca to engage with, and elicit feedback from the Medical Transportation (MT) management industry representatives and others interested in providing feedback on solutions in regards to the potential future needs of ISC’s Non-Insured Health Benefit (NIHB) Medical Transportation benefit.
The objectives of the RFI were to:
1. Inform industry of ISC’s requirements for the Medical Transportation System Solution (MTSS);
2. Share information on the NIHB program's current business model, high level requirements, projected clientele volume growth, and business volume growth;
3. Seek information on new technologies, business models and practices that would help NIHB save or contain costs while providing enhanced services;
4. Introduce to industry the Indigenous Participation Component (IPC), also known as the Aboriginal Participation Component (APC), of any future solicitation;
5. Engage Indigenous businesses and communities interested in the requirement; and
6. Provide industry an opportunity to submit feedback on the requirement and participate in subsequent engagement activities.
The information and feedback obtained throughout this Industry Engagement Phase 1 process has given some insight into industry’s current capabilities. It is understood that additional feedback must be gathered to enable ISC to better define the project’s full requirements, as well as to identify any challenges industry may foresee related to the project.
