2. The Department of Construction Research Center of the National Research Council Canada has a requirement to develop an education and engagement program in collaboration with industry partners to increase awareness of low-carbon concrete options and solutions throughout the construction sector. The work will involve the following:
a) Identify industry partners who will support the development and testing of the education and engagement program.
b) From the list of interested industry partners, establish an advisory committee to provide expert advice and guidance during the development of the program.
c) With guidance from the advisory committee, select target groups to offer education and awareness training for low-carbon concrete solutions. Develop training module requirements for each target group.
d) Select training modules to be developed and identify appropriate methods/platforms for delivering the training modules.
e) Select the first target group and develop the corresponding training modules, covering at a minimum the following topics:
A. Low-carbon concrete products and solutions
o Current solutions available
o Solutions currently under review/development
o Solutions expected to be reviewed/developed later
B. Available guidance documents
C. Existing policies that support low-carbon cement and concrete
D. Related LCA tools
E. Embodied carbon data and benchmarking
F. Ongoing national master specification development
f) Using the modules developed in item (e) above, conduct two pilot sessions for the training materials and solicit feedback from the participants. Refine the program and training materials as needed in response to the feedback.
g) Develop training modules for the remaining target groups, covering at a minimum the topics included in item #5A through #5F above.
h) Pilot the remaining modules with the corresponding target groups, solicit feedback, and refine the training materials
