Justice Canada previously tendered a litigation document review software (2002) that resulted in the procurement of Ringtail, the document review platform still being used today. Litigation technologies have evolved significantly since the procurement of Ringtail in 2002.
Since 2002, JUS has initiated and piloted several eLitigation tools for tasks ranging from document collection, review, processing to the presentation of documents at trial. Based on these pilots and our understanding of the marketplace and industry best practice, the National eDiscovery and Litigation Support Services has drafted a list of business requirements for litigation, and additional activities to refine them have been completed within 2017/2018 fiscal year.
The Next Generation Litigation Software (NGLS) initiative will support JUS in finding, acquiring and implementing business and technology solutions for the litigation processes defined within the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
