The Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE) provides to the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Geomatics products and services. MCE undertakes engineering projects that often require professional services support. The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to outline the requirements for one (1) Geomatics Specialist (Level 2) to support the development of geomatics capabilities in the form of tools, work flows, and documentation. Support will also be given to the development and implementation of military geospatial standards and specifications. With the ratification and adoption of the Ground-Warfighter Geospatial Data Model (GGDM) and NATO Geospatial Information Framework (NGIF), it has become necessary for MCE to support both the population and exploitation of data into/from these vector data schemas. In support, MCE Engineering must develop tools and processes that will transform commonly used vector data into GGDM & NGIF, as well as produce standardized outputs. The Geomatics Specialist (Level 2) must have the required knowledge, experience, skills and abilities to use specific GIS applications as well as military standard geospatial data to organize, process and exploit data and information.
