In its current state, the GDMSS application does not comply with current Health Canada / Public Health Agency application development methodologies. To reduce the maintenance and overhead required for the installation, support and upgrades of custom desktop solutions, they are required to be developed as web applications. In addition the Government of Canada Windows 7 initiative will limit the installation of custom rich client applications to desktop workstations.
The objectives of this requirement will be to re-architect the current rich client application as a web application and address, correct and implement the deficiencies, issues and change requests identified by the client.
