Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No
Nature of Requirements:

(a) Requirement
The Munition Experimental Test Centre has a requirement for the supply of one 2D digital X-ray / 3D Computed Tomography Inspection System (CTIS) due to the increasing demand for 3-dimensional measuring of components to find hidden defects (e.g. shrink holes, cracks, inclusions, pores, etc.) in the depth of a material and to determine the exterior and interior physical dimension of a specimen. Computed Tomography (CT) allows the inspection and measurement of hidden and inaccessible specimen characteristics, which is not possible with other techniques. The procurement for this CTIS isnecessary to improve the support of tests and evaluation trials for the Department of National Defence (DND).

This 3D inspection system will permit to produce 2D digital x-ray and 3D representations of components both externally and internally without disassembly or destruction of the part and also permit failure analysis, assembly analysis, dimensional measurements and allowing reverse engineering projects to be moved faster into prototype fabrication.

There must have no protective enclosure for the CTIS. The thickness of the inner concrete wall of the X-ray laboratory is 15 inches.

The maximum footprint for the CTIS must be within 14 feet large by 16 feet long and 11.5 feet high.

In order to respect a safe height with the use of CTIS, the height of the turntable must not exceed 36 inches from the laboratory floor.

Shipping packages must enter the entrance door of the radiographic laboratory using a door opening of 92 inches in height by 70 inches in width.
