Automated Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
Environment Canada (EC) Burlington, ON, has requested the supply
and delivery of one (1) automated gel permeation chromatography
(GPC) system equipped with an autosampler, automatic evaporation
module, and data system for the removal of lipids and other high
molecular weight interferences from biological or other
environmental samples.
This sample preparation and clean-up system will be used for
contaminant monitoring and surveillance activities by
Environment Canada's Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance
Division supporting priorities of the Chemicals Management Plan.
Primarily, the system will be used to separate lipids from
biological extracts which can then be analysed for priority
contaminants; however, as a modular system it can be easily
expanded and modified to handle many different sample types to
accommodate future monitoring and surveillance priorities.
