The University of Calgary plans to purchase RTDS Technologies Inc. specialized combined software, hardware real-time simulator system capable of simulating banshee benchmark microgrid and also interfacing for real-time power hardware in the loop. To the lab’s knowledge, this is the only supplier that can provide one combined system and does not rely on third party add-ons, providing a digital simulator that does not rely on an operating system. The simulations run bare-metal on the processor(s).
