USA, the only manufacturer who currently manufactures AXIB
Arctic Weather buoys (air and ship deployable). It is the only
buoy on the market with the range of sensors integrated into the
system that has the proven reliable performance in extremely
harsh environment and can survive the Arctic freeze-thaw cycle
while deployed on ice or in water. The unique design of the
AXIB has a proven in-field operational lifetime of minimum of 18
months in the extreme Arctic environment, which is ideal for
insitu marine monitoring, especially in growing areas of
marginal first year ice, which have proven to be difficult to
monitor using traditional ice buoy. As well, the Air Deployable
AXIB Buoys have demonstrated successful deployment from C-130
aircraft in Arctic deployment.
